Bruges is fully committed to a sustainable future. That is why we explicitly choose 'better' instead of 'more', using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (the SDGs) as our guiding principle. The city government is certainly not alone in doing so. Residents, business owners and visitors are helping to make this happen.
A sustainable approach is also high on the agenda for your film production. From economical energy consumption and smart transport to the protection of heritage, respect for animal welfare and green spaces, or effective sorting of waste. By the way, did you know that there are a lot of local companies ready to help shape your production? This will save you miles, while supporting the local economy.
Climate plan 'Brugge Naar Morgen'
The BruggeNaarMorgen climate plan guides the city in making policy choices based on a number of sustainable themes. With this commitment, the city aims to cut local CO2 emissions in half by 2030. By 2050, Bruges aims to emit no net CO2 and be a climate-neutral city. This is only possible if everyone does their bit. For film productions too, these bridges are a capstone for organising shoots more sustainably.
